Student aspires to study criminology once completing her studies at UTC Oxfordshire

Year 13 student, Molly, has secured an offer to study criminology at University of Bristol in September.

Molly, who studies an Engineering BTEC Level 3 Extended, A-level maths and an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), is on track to achieve D* D* D* in her upcoming exams.

Molly said: “I got offers back from all of my university choices, with Bristol being my first choice. I love the city and its campus, and the four-year course here includes a year studying abroad, which is a big bonus.”

“Originally, I wanted to go into engineering, and was looking at apprenticeship options. It was the main reason I joined UTC Oxfordshire in year 12, to study this specialism. My dad is into racing and so I have grown up around it and used to help him fix cars…”

“It wasn’t until I did a dissertation in forensics for my Extended Project Qualification that I considered going into something else. I soon found that I had more of an interest in criminology and started looking at universities that offered this.”

“I’ve enjoyed my time at UTC Oxfordshire. It is a smaller college, which makes it much easier to communicate with the teachers and they treat you more like an adult. I also got so much support from the staff on my UCAS application and personal statement, which really helped me to secure offers!”
