What our students and parents say

We asked our students and their parents for anonymous feedback on their experiences of UTC Oxfordshire so far. Here are some of their responses:

“UTC Oxfordshire focuses on my future.”DSC_0332
(Year 10 student)

“Teachers at UTC Oxfordshire are enthusiastic about teaching and the whole school, which then makes the┬ástudents feel more enthusiastic about learning and coming to school.”
(Year 12 student)

“My son has never been so happy, motivated, stretched and fulfilled at school as he is now that he has joined the UTC. During half term the words “I can’t wait to go back to school” were uttered on more than one occasion. He used to switch his brain off to go to school because he was so bored. He is transformed!”

“Coming to UTC Oxfordshire has helped me boost my grades.”

I really like having independent study periods – having time to complete work while at the UTC makes my time at home that much more enjoyable, rather than stressing about having it done. It’s really cut down on any procrastination.”
(Year 12 student)

“I have nothing but praise for every thing to do with UTC. It was definitely the best decision regarding my son’s education.”
(Parent)

“UTC Oxfordshire focuses directly on my most enjoyed subjects which allows me to make progress in them.”
(Year 10 student)

“UTC Oxfordshire is really focused around engineering and really teaches you things that other schools wouldn’t. It prepares you for future work.”
(Year 12 student)

“My son is extremely happy he started 6th form at the UTC. He says everyone is happy to be there which creates a great learning atmosphere.”
(Parent)

“UTC Oxfordshire focuses on what’s important, for example employability skills.”
(Year 10 student)

“I like UTC Oxfordshire’s general atmosphere DSC_0139in which the students are treated as young adults as opposed to kids. It makes me as a student feel more trusted and teaches me important self-management skills. It’s also suited to my personal desire in what I want to do when I leave education in Engineering and provides me with plenty of opportunities to broaden my knowledge and capabilities.”
(Year 12 student)

“I would like to say how pleased we have been with the superb quality of communication between the school and parents. We have an excellent understanding of the areas where our son is progressing well and the areas where more work is needed. We have been able to communicate directly with staff by e-mail and this has allowed us to work together to improve outcomes. We also feel that staff have got to know our son as an individual and have made him feel a valued member of the school community. We wanted staff to know how much we value the UTC and its staff.”
