On Tuesday 5 February, UTC Oxfordshire opened its doors to prospective students and their families, as well as those looking to meet local and national employers to discuss their career options.
The Careers Showcase and Open Event ran from 5.30-7.30pm, with visitors getting the chance to meet UTC Oxfordshire’s industry partners such as BMW Mini, Oxford Space Systems and Thames Water, to discuss career paths and new opportunities.
Prospective students and their families and friends could gain a glimpse of what studying could be like at UTC Oxfordshire. They were able to tour the cutting-edge facilities with current students and take part in activities run by the departments, including tasting handmade ice-cream at the the brand new cryogenics lab!
UTC Principal, Owain Johns, ran a talk for prospective Year 10 and Year 12 students. Both talks included key information about how University Technical Colleges (UTC) differ from a traditional school: its curriculum, current students’ work experience with industry partners, along with information on how to apply. Both finished with a question and answer session.
From UTC Oxfordshire, we would like to thank you all for coming along and to our industry partners that exhibited, that made this event possible.
