Video: Welcome to UTC Oxfordshire
Take a look at our new video to see why students are choosing to study at UTC Oxfordshire:
Year 12 student secures Jaguar Land Rover apprenticeship
Following a competitive process, Year 12 UTC Oxfordshire student, James Ostridge, has secured an apprenticeship with Jaguar Land Rover.
After filling out a lengthy application form, James had to complete some online tests before sending his CV and being invited to attend an interview. Ten people were interviewed in total, for just two places on the apprenticeship scheme starting this September.
Science students selected to tackle real-world health challenges
UTC Oxfordshire’s science department, together with the biosciences department at Oxford Brookes University, has been selected to join the Small World Initiative (Switch) project.
The SWI is being run by the Microbiology Society to involve students and an industry partner in the real-world search for new antibiotics from soil micro-organisms. The project will help overcome the growing problem of antibiotic resistance.
Work experience week
Our students are on various work experience placements this week, gaining valuable industry experience related to their chosen specialisms.
Throughout the week we will be publishing case studies giving examples of where our students have gone and what they are doing. Take a look at the first ones to be published here: http://www.utcoxfordshire.org.uk/study-here/work-experience/
Oxford Mail have also published a story about 17 of our students who have begun their work experience at Mini Plant Oxford. Read the full story.
Please support us on social media as we share our students’ experiences using the hashtag #UTCOxWork.
Looking for a new challenge?
We are seeking a Business Administration Apprentice to join our growing team this summer. This varied role will include interacting with staff, students, parents, and business partners, and due to the unique nature of our school, the skills learnt will be transferable to the education and business sectors alike.
